Live Painting
Interpreting music into abstract are in realtime in front of a live audience.
Nick Biello Quartet
The River Room - Willimantic, CT
March 2026
A single natural pigment piece created to represent New York City-based jazz saxophonist, Nick Biello’s performance. Over two hour-long sets, with an easel set up on the side, I created one piece using natural inks, salt, and baking soda. Each pigment and brushstroke, followed the compositions and improvised solos of the entire band.
Jen Allen’s ONE Project
Guilford GreenStage Festival
August 2025
Each song performed in Jen Allen’s presentation of ONE was interpreted into its own individual natural pigment piece. As the band performed, each song received an interpretation as I painted on the floor of the church. A screen behind the band allowed the audience to follow along with the music and the painting.
